Severe Remal Cyclone to hit West Bengal, Bangladesh at 120 Kmph by Sunday Evening
According to the Latest Update, the "Severe Remal Cyclone" is likely to reach a wind speed of 120 kilometres per hour by Sunday. "It is very likely to cross Bangladesh and adjoining West Bengal coasts between Sagar Island and Khepupara around 26th May midnight as a severe cyclonic storm...." IMD Spotlighted in the Latest Statement.
"102 km/h Gusting Winds" and "Heavy rain Alert"
According to IMD, the Severe Remal Cyclone is likely to reach a wind speed of 102 kilometres per hour by Sunday. On 26 May the Speed would further increase becoming 100-110 kmph to 120 kmph over north Bay of Bengal and 70-80 kmph to 90 kmph over adjoining central Bay of Bengal during next 24 hours from 26th May morning.
"Heavy Rain Alert" in Adjoining States
Due to terror of Cyclone Remal in Bangladesh — Adjoining Indian States, Mizoram, Tripura, South Manipur, West Bengal's Coastal Districts have been issued a Heavy Rain Alert for 26-27 May.

IMD's expert research scientist Monica Sharma told PTI that Cyclone Rimal will turn into a "severe cyclonic storm" by Sunday morning marked that, "It will further intensify into a cyclonic storm on Saturday morning and reach Bangladesh and the adjoining West Bengal coast as a severe cyclonic storm by Sunday evening."

Severe Cyclonic Storm by 25 May
Latest update of Indian Meteorological Department mentioned that, the low pressure depression created in Southwest and West Central Bay of Bengal will turn into a terrible cyclone by May 25.
Suggestion of IMD to Fisherman,
For the safety of the fishermen they were advised to return to the coast and not venture into the Bay of Bengal until May 27.
High Concentration over Central Bay of Bengal and...
With great force, this Low Pressure Area have moved Northeastward, Concentrate over Central Bay of Bengal and have transformed into a High Depression by the morning of 24 May, after which this High Depression will intensify itself and finally turn into a cyclonic storm over East Central Bay of Bengal by 25 May — as Reported by Indian Meteorological Department.Well-marked Low Pressure Area over westcentral & adjoining south Bay of Bengal moved northeastwards during past 12 hours and lay over the same area at 1730 IST of 23 May. In its latest statement, the IMD Marked,
"Low Pressure Area over southwest & adjoining west central Bay of Bengal moved northeastwards and lay as a well-marked low pressure area over west central & adjoining south Bay of Bengal at 0830 hrs IST of today, the 23rd May, 2024. It is very likely to continue to move northeastwards and concentrate into a Depression over central parts of Bay of Bengal by morning of 24th May, 2024."
Cyclone Remal Set to Strengthen Its Fury
IMD further added, Slowly, this "Cyclonic Storm" will move Northward after 25th May, towards the adjoining areas of Bangladesh and West Bengal, and will also become more intense with the winds, by 26th May this Cyclonic Storm will turn into a "Sever Cyclonic Storm" in Bangladesh and Weta Bengal.
The Latest Statement Further Added,
"Thereafter, it is very likely to continue to move northeastwards, intensify further into a cyclonic storm over east central Bay of Bengal by 25th May morning. Subsequently, it would move nearly northwards and reach near Bangladesh and adjoining West Bengal coasts by 26th May evening as a severe cyclonic storm,"
Midnight of 26 May, Cyclone Remal will pass....
According to the statement of IMD, IMD Predicts that the "Cyclonic Storm" will pass through the Costal areas of Bangladesh and West Bengal around midnight of 26 May and will turn into a "Sevare Cyclonic Storm". And if this happens, Sagar Island and Khepupara will be included in its package. And if this happens then Sagar Island and Khepupara will be hit by this "Sever Cyclonic Storm" and it will cause massive destruction.

"Continuing to move nearly northward, it is very likely to cross Bangladesh and adjoining West Bengal coasts between Sagar Island and Khepupara around 26th May midnight as a severe cyclonic storm."
The Fury of Strong Blustery winds

According to IMD's prediction, as the cyclonic storm hits the coastal area, the wind speed will become very fast. There is a high possibility that the wind speed over central and adjoining south Bengal coastal areas will reach 40-50 km per hour to 60 kmph on May 23. According to IMD, on 24th May, the wind speed in Central Bengal will be around 50 km to 70km per hour, along with this, stormy weather will prevail over the Costal Region of West Bengal.
Blustery Winds to Blow at a speed of 80 kmph
From 25th May morning, the gusty wind speed reaching 60-70 kmph gusting to 80 kmph would spread over adjoining areas of north Bay of Bengal. The speed of the blustery wind is likely to reach 50-70 Km to 80 Km by 25th May morning, from this day, the Stormy Wind would spread terror in the adjacent Coastal Regions of South Bay of Bengal.
South Bay Of Bengal and Adjoining areas
Due to this, for the next 24 hours, the speed of stormy winds will increase from 100-110km to 120 km per hour in South Bay of Bengal, whereas in the adjoining Costal Regions the speed of winds is likely to remain between 70-80 to 90 km per hour.
Andaman Nicobar and South Andaman Sagar
According to the IMD's projection, there is a possibility of stormy winds with a speed of 40 to 50 km over Andaman Nicobar Island and South Andaman Sagar from 23 to 24 May.
