China's Heavier Military Drills Encircling Taiwan's Mainland, "Strong Punishment" marked Li Xi

The Naval Colonel Li Xi warned and said, "strong punishment for the separatist acts of Taiwan independence forces and a serious warning...." 

Heavier Military Training of China, Encircling Taiwan's Mainland 

The aim is to Check whether Military can "seize" 

China's army, "The People's Liberation", said in its statement on Friday that the aim of China's military drill training is to check whether they can seize the island or not ? The Chinese military is testing its ability to "Seize Power", and this is happening at a time when China has just started the 2nd day of its military drill Training near Taiwan on a large scale.

Ongoing Drill Involves all kinds of Chinese Military Units 

China's Defense Ministry said the drills involved Chinese military troops striking five estimated target areas in the sea surrounding Taiwan's main island. China's Military Drills involves all types of military units of China, including the air force, rocket force, army, navy and coast forces. 

Sudden Announcement, 5 Estimated Target near Taiwan

The announcement of China's military drill training was made suddenly on Thursday morning, with around 5 estimated target is near China's main land being marked in the map. These 5 Estimated Target are also very close to the main land of Taiwan. 

Naval Colonel, "test the ability to jointly seize power....." 

On Friday, the PLA's Eastern Theater Commander, Naval Colonel Li Xi Spokesperson Spotlighted that China will continue its military drill training on both sides of Taiwan's island chain, in order to, " test the ability to jointly seize power, launch joint attacks, and occupy key areas." Spokesperson Xi Li also Marked that "capability of joint seizure of power, joint strikes and control of key territories", — as reported by the State Media. He also said that this is an "Strong  punishment” for “Taiwan independence forces,”. He further Mentioned, "a stern warning against the interference and provocation by external forces,” 

Ongoing Historical Dispute Between China and Taiwan 

There is a dispute going on between China and Taiwan for many Decades regarding the People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Republic of China (ROC). Both countries still officially (Constitutionally) consider mainland China and Taiwan as their part. In reality, only China controls the PRC and Taiwan has no rights over it, but China considers Taiwan as part of its territory under its "One China Principle".

The New President Lai Ching-te 

In response to this ongoing Strict Military Drill Training of China, the New President of Taiwan Lai Ching-te marked, “China would respect the choices of the people of Taiwan, and in good faith, choose dialogue over confrontation”.

Marked that, " I will stand Alongside..."

He also said mentioned that, external Challenges and Threats, we will Continue to defend the values of freedom and protect regional Peace and stability. He further added that he will "stand alongside" and "Protect National Security". 

Taiwan, "irrational Provocation" 

Taiwan Critisized China's military drill training, which is going on for two days, Taiwan's Defense Ministry called this military training a "irrational provocation" and in response to this, it also landed its Navy, Land Army and Defense Army in the battlefield.

On Thursday Taiwan’s presidential office marked that “regrettable to see China threatening Taiwan’s democracy and freedom and regional peace and stability with unilateral military provocations,” also mentioned that Taiwan has the  “confidence and ability to protect national security.”

A Spokesperson from Taiwanese Ministry 

Sun Li-fang, a spokesman for the Taiwanese ministry, told the briefing said that, “We must express our condemnation for this behavior that damages regional peace and stability,”

She added, "This could be invaluable experience for a range of operations against Taiwan,” added Ms. Lin, she is also the lead Author of the study to be published in this month, the study covers that how China can impose maritime quarantine around Taiwan.

A glance at Manpower of China and Taiwan 

When we directly compare Man Power between China and Taiwan, China can easily overtake Taiwan. Where China's Military, The People's Liberation Army have 2 Million Active Soldiers and on the Other hand Taiwan have just 1,69,000 active soldiers. Taiwan's population is approx 23 Million — China's Military Power is the second most powerful Military Power in the world after United States.

Defense Budget : China Vs Taiwan 

Talking about defense budget, China's defense expenditure is much less than Taiwan. China is the second largest spender on defense after the United States, with $230 billion allocated for its military. On the other hand, Taipei announced in 2023 that it plans to increase its defense budget to $18.1 billion, which is 2.6 percent of its GDP.
