Lonavala Bhushi Dam Tragedy: Recently a heart wrenching incident took place in the backwater of Lonavala's famous attraction BHUSHI dam in which 5 people lost their lives, 3 dead bodies were discovered by rescue teams, but till now the dead bodies of 2 children could not be discovered.

On Sunday, a heart-breaking accident happened in Lonavala, one of the most beautiful places in India, located near Mumbai, Maharashtra. The police marked,
"It's a tragic incident. Despite numerous warnings, people continue to venture into hazardous areas in the hilly terrain upstream of Bhushi Dam. Today, many revellers were under the waterfalls in the Bhushi Dam region, ignoring the warnings,"

We can see in the video that some people of a family are having fun in the Speedily flowing water and as soon as the water shows its powerful form all the visitors of the family get frightened and almost all those people come on the verge of drowning while ignoring the flow of water, including minor Children of 4 years old.
The tragedy took place in a prominent waterfall near Bhushi Dam in Lonavala, in which 3 people lost their lives, by drowning in the Speedy Water. Rescue teams on the spot conducted their rescue operation in which bodies of a 36 year old woman and 2 minor girls were recovered from the waterfall. A police official said on Sunday,
"Members of the Ansari family went to see the waterfall close to the Bhushi Dam but were caught unawares when the water flow rose due to intense rain in the area and were swept away,”
An Spokesperson from Lonavala Police Station Marked, "The search operation for the two children resumed on Monday morning with the rescue teams of the Vanyajeev Rakshak Maval, Shiv Durg Trekkers Organisation and the Navy divers."
5 Died, Including 36 Years Old Women, 4 Years Old Adnan Sabhahat Ansari
This accident occurred on 30 June in which a 36-year-old woman along with 4 children died after drowning in a waterfall located near the backwater of Bhushi Dam in Lonavala. Pune's Rural Police Superintendent Pankaj Deshmukh humbly requested people not to ignore the visitors' warning and not to risk their lives while exploring unfamiliar attractions in locality like Lonavala, Khandala, and Pavan Dam.
Within just 2 Months, 27 people have died due to drowning in water bodies in Maval tehsil
Lonavala Police has several times asked people to stay alert and not go into dangerous water flows. According to Lonavala Rural Police, since January 2024, around 4 people have drowned to death in Pavan Dam. The rescue organisation Vanyajeev Rakshak Maval reported that in just two months between March and May, a total of 27 bodies of people were rescued in multiple water bodies from Maval tehsil.
The police said in its statement that Navy Drivers, Police and all required teams have been Deployed, the teams are Serching "for two missing children who along with three other family members got swept away at a waterfall near the Bhushi Dam in Pune’s Lonavala area"
On Sunday, the search teams launched their rescue operation as soon as they received the news of people drowning in Bushi Dam, in which the bodies of 36-year-old woman Shahista Liaqat Ansari, 13-year-old teenager Amima Adil Ansari and 8-year-old Umera Adil Ansari were recovered from the backwater of Bushi Dam.

Police also told that this family belongs to Sayyad Nagar in Pune Hadaspar area. Its 16-17 members had hired a private bus in order to explore the beauty of Lonavala — But unfortunately this tragic incident happened.
