Kolkata Doctor Rape Case: The Criminal Raped a 2 Years Post Graduated Trainee in the Campus of the College. The FORDA Declared National Wide Medical Strike, More than 3 Lacs Medical Students have already Joined the Strike. 

Kolkata Doctor Rape Case: A very gut wrenching incident has happened in Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College. Kolkata Police has recently arrested a civic volunteer from the college in a rape and murder case. The shocking thing here is that the civic volunteer raped a doctor in the hospital itself and used his own body to erase the blood marks.

The Criminal Tried his Best to Destroy the Evidence

This incident is very painful. According to the police, after the accused raped the doctor, the criminal came to his residence and started erasing all the evidence related to the crime. 

The criminal came home and washed all his clothes to wipe off the blood stains from his clothes but it was of no use. During the search investigation, the police found blood strain stains on his shoes, after which this crime was exposed.

 The criminal raped a post-graduate trainee. Now the body of the female has been sent for post-mortem. A comprehensive investigation will be conducted in the post-mortem and it will be found out whether anyone else was also involved in this crime. The Police Marked, 

"After committing the crime, the accused went back to the place where he was staying and slept till late on Friday morning. After waking up, he washed the clothes he was wearing during the crime to destroy evidence. His shoes, with blood stains on them, were found during a search," 

Strict Investigation ia Going on, the Girl Murdered then Raped 

A strict investigation was conducted and many arguments came out in which a police officer said that the post graduate trainee was first murdered and then raped, though this is just an assumption, it can be finally made clear only after the post mortem.

"We are also talking to people who were on duty on Thursday night till the next morning. CCTV footage is also being checked," a Police Officer told PTI News Agency. 

Congress Women Priyanka Gandhi Demanded For Strict Investigation over this Case 

Politics is also heated on this issue. Congress Leader Priyanka Gandhi expressed grief over this and demanded to make rules regarding women's safety in India. Along with this, Priyanka Gandhi requested the West Bengal government to conduct a strict investigation in this matter. 

In her speech, Priyanka also expressed concern about women's safety and workplace and said, "Safety of women at workplace is a big issue in the country and concrete efforts are needed for this. In her Twitter Handle she Marked, 

"The incident of rape and murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata is heartbreaking I appeal to the state government to take quick and strict action in this case and ensure justice to the victim's family and fellow doctor."

The Principle of the RG Kar Medical College Resigned 

The principal of the government-run RG kar Medical College Sandeep Ghosh has immediately resigned from his post. When the media questioned him, he said, “I am getting defamed on social media…The deceased doctor was like my daughter. As a parent, I resign…I don’t like that this should happen to anyone in future,"

Kolkata Doctor Rape Case: Junior Students Strike Demanded for, "strict Investigation" 

As soon as this unfortunate incident happened, there was outrage in entire West Bengal. After the incident, juniors of State run RG Kar Medical College Kolkata started a movement against it. Students are very saddened by this incident and by joining this movement, they are demanding the government to take immediate strict action in this matter.

FORDA Declared Nationwide Medical Strike, Protest Joined by +3 lac Students 

After this incident, the Federation of Resident Doctors' Association (FORDA) has declared a nationwide medical strike.

After meeting Ministry of Home and Family welfare Secretary Apurva Chandra, FORDA's General Secretary Dr Sarvesh Pandey has demanded a "fast track" CBI inquiry into this case. He has clearly declared that they will continue the strike till they gets the assurance in writing that his demands will be fulfilled. At the end he said, "Around 3 lakh doctors across the country have joined the protest…"

"We will continue our strike until we get a written assurance that our demands will be fulfilled. During the strike, elective surgeries will be hampered and only Emergency Services will function."
