Palitana city, located 50 kilometers away from Bhavnagar district of Gujarat, has achieved a "Milestone" by completely banning non-veg. This happened when hundreds of Jain Monks protested against the law and demanded closure of 250 butch.

Selling and consuming Non Veg in Palitana is illegal, And if anyone is found doing this then strict action will be taken against him. The order for complete ban on non-veg in Palitana came when around 200 Jain Sadhu staged continuous protest.
The saints demanded Ban on 250 butcher shops in Palitana city where non-veg is sold. The protest against Jain Sadhus was done to save the dignity and prestige of their Jain religion, all Sadhus consider eating non-veg a sin.
Selling of Non Veg hurts the "Sentiments" and Believes of Jains
People supporting this ban believe that the open display of non-veg in Palitana directly harms the sentiments and beliefs of Jains. Killing animals and eating them does not suit Jainism, which is a religion that is celebrated with non-violence and Compassion for every living and non Living thing.
