Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei expressed deep condolences on social media on Ismail's death. Ali praised Ismail's courage and bravery and gave him many blessings.
"I offer my condolences to the Islamic Ummah, the Resistance Front, the courageous, proud people of Palestine, and in particular to the family and loved ones of Martyr Haniyeh and of one of his companions who was martyred beside him. May Almighty God elevate their ranks."

In response to this, he talked about resuming the war, Anthony said that after the killing of Hamas's political leader Ismail Haniyeh, Ceasefire in Gaza "is the enduring imperative." Blinken said that,
