PM Modi Inaugurated Nalanda University Campus, recalled it's Glorious History

In Bihar Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the Campus of Nalanda University. And to Witness this Historical and Auspicious Moment S Jaishankar, Vijay Sinha, CM Nitish Kumar and Samrat Chaudhary and Rajendra Arlekar. 

Along with Ambassdor of 17 Foreign Countries were also Present in the Inaugration. Ambassador of Australia, Singapore, China, South Korea, Thailand and 12 More.  

Inaugration of Nalanda University Campus marked, "Golden Era of India" 

Recently, Prime Minister Modi went to Bihar on Wednesday and started the second "Golden Era of India". PM inaugurated the new campus of the world's first university, Nalanda University, in Bihar with his auspicious hands. PM Modi Marked, 
“India should once again be recognised as the most prominent knowledge centre in the world"
On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi also visited the first campus of Nalanda University which is 90 km away from Patna and made the new generation aware of its Heritage and culture.

S Jaishankar, Nitish Kumar Witnessed this Historic Moment 

On this auspicious occasion, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Bihar Governor Rajendra Arlekar, Vijay Sinha, Deputy CMs Samrat Choudhary, and Ambassadors of 17 foreign countries were also present at the inauguration of Nalanda Campus along with Prime Minister Modi.

"Revival of a global bridge" marked Union Minister S Jaishankar 

In his speech, Union Minister for External Affairs S Jaishankar called this new initiative a "Revival of a global bridge" and also hinted at India's bright future, “Today, we are here to witness the revival of a global bridge of learning that can build relationships even further than in the past. Education, training and capacity building are the most effective ways of promoting international understanding.”

Nitish Kumar "Glorious History" 

Bihar's Chief Minister Nitish Kumar addressed the history of Nalanda as a "Glorious" history and Spotlighted, "The Nalanda University has a glorious history. In the ancient times, the Nalanda University was identified as the centre of education." 

PM Modi said in his speech
Prime Minister Modi recalled the history and Glory of Nalanda University and said, "Nalanda is the proclamation of this truth that books may burn in the flames of fire, but the flames of fire cannot destroy knowledge. Nalanda is an identity, respect, and pride.”

“The renaissance of Nalanda University near its ancient ruins will introduce India’s potential to the world. Nalanda is not just a renaissance of India’s past, the heritage of many countries and Asia is linked to it. In days to come, Nalanda University will once again become a major centre for our cultural exchange.”
“Be curious, be courageous but above all be kind. I am confident that our youth will provide leadership to the entire world in the times to come. I am confident that Nalanda will become an important centre for global causes,” 

Ambassador of 17 Foreign Countries were also Present there 

Ambassadors of 17 foreign countries were also present to witness this historic inauguration of Nalanda University — Australia, Singapore, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Thailand, Brunei, Vietnam,  Darussalam, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, China, South Korea, Indonesia, Laos, Mauritius, Myanmar, New Zealand, Portugal. 


Will offer Wide Range of Subject to International Students

A wide range of subjects will be made available in Nalanda University like before, there will be a total of 137 scholarships in Nalanda. It will include many language options for international students like Hindi, English, Korean, Sanskrit, Pali, Tibetan and Many More. 

In this, Diploma and Certificate will be provided in many subjects from MA to PhD. Cources Include MA in Buddhist Philosophy, Ecology, Environmental Studies, Hindu Studies, Historical Studies. PhD in Buddhist Studies, Ecology, Environmental Studies, Historical Studies. MSA in Ecology and Environmental Studies.

A Glance at Nalanda's Glorious and Vibrant History 


The history of Nalanda University is very Glorious and Prestigious, Nalanda is called the oldest university in the world. Nalanda University was known throughout the world for its special knowledge in the fifth and sixth century. Another name of Nalanda University is Buddhist Mahavihara meaning "Great Monastery". 

The curriculum of Nalanda University was very comprehensive and it had curriculum for almost every religion.
The major subjects in it were Buddhist philosophy. Nalanda had many subjects like Vedas, Grammar, Astronomy, Mathematics, Alchemy Medicine and Much more for the students.

Nalanda University was located in Rajagriha, a city just 56 miles away from Patna, the capital of Bihar state of India. It was established by King Kumargupta I in 527 CE, it is believed that Nalanda University ran till the 13th century. Presently Nalanda University comes under the Government of India and is managed by the Archaeological Survey of India.
