Alarming Alerts for ICICI Customers : Blocked 17000 Credit Cards due to....

Warning for ICICI Credit Card Customers — "No instance of misuse of a card from this set has been reported to..... loss" a spokesperson stated.


Grand Misleading Alert ! 

A big misleading issue has come to light regarding credit cards in ICICI bank. Due to which ICICI Bank has taken the step of blocking 17000 new credit cards, issued within just few days. 

This matter came to light when ICICI Bank users informed on social media platform that they were able to see sensitive information of unknown customers on their IMobile Pay App.
Sensitive information like credit card's full card number, expiry date, card verification value CVV or more.

Customer's Complaint 


An ICICI bank User said regarding this matter, “I have access to someone else’s Amazon Pay CC due to a security glitch on the iMobile app. Although OTP restricts domestic transactions, I can do international transactions using the details from the iMobile app,”.

Another user Said on Twitter, "My friend just got his apay icici card on 24th april and he was also able see other cards on his imobile app. Now his apay card is also blocked. Wonder when replacement card will be issued."

 



A sight on Alarming Circumstances 


It is as similar as you are logging into your ICICI credit card portal and you see details which you have not even filed. Because the details belongs to Unknown ICICI Bank Customer. According to ICICI bank, details of new credit card customers have been wrongly provided to the existing ICICI Bank customers.

Statement of ICICI Bank 


ICICI Bank spokespersons gave statement regarding blocking 17000 New ICICI Bank credit cards said, "were erroneously mapped in our digital channels to wrong users”.

“As an immediate measure, we have blocked these cards and are issuing new ones to the customers. We regret the inconvenience caused," Mentioned the ICICI Bank spokesperson.

The ICICI spokesperson also Stated that the Number of Affected Credit cards — which is 17000 Constitute about 0.1% of ICICI Bank credit card portfolio.

He further explains that till now ICICI Bank has not received any report from the bank's customers about any financial loss due to this problem. And even if something goes Wrong, the bank will take full responsibility of it and it will also give compensation.

"No Instance of Misuse... " 

He added “No instance of misuse of a card from this set has been reported to us. However, we assure that the Bank will appropriately compensate a customer in case of any financial loss."

According to Sumanta Mandal, founder of Technofino — "It's a Security Glitch on ICICI Bank’s iMobile Pay app"

In a post in Twitter Sumanta Mandal warned and wrote, "‼️ Serious Security Glitch in ICICI Bank's iMobile Alert!!! 
Several users have reported being able to view other customers' ICICI Bank credit cards on their iMobile app. Since the full card number, expiry date, and CVV are visible on iMobile, and one can manage international transaction settings, it's easy for someone to misuse another person's credit card for international transactions .Requesting @ICICIBank to fix this issue as soon as possible. And @RBI, please review ICICI Bank's security systems."
