US Accused Adani Group and Gautam Adani... for involving in Bribery

USA once again accused Adani Group of bribery. A US unit was investigating the Adani Group from the very beginning, but now the Investigation Unit has increased the scale of its investigation even more because the investigators suspect that not only the Admi Group but also the Group Chairman Gautam Adani is involved in the bribery case.

The case is being fully investigated by the US Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York and Justice Department Fraud Unit of Washington.

Investigators suspect that Indian officials have been paid by Adani Group or Gautam Adani for favorable treatment on an energy project. Along with Adani Group, investigators have also taken India's leading renewable energy company Azure Power Global into Investigation. Azure has not yet given any specific response on this matter.

In an emailed statement Adani group Stated "We are not aware of any investigation against our chairman. As a business group that operates with the highest standards of governance, we are subject to and fully compliant with anti-corruption and anti-bribery laws in India and other countries."

This is not the first time that Adani Company has been accused by a US investigation unit of being involved in wrong practices. In fact, earlier in January 2023, America's short seller private research unit Hindenberg had also accused Adani Group of following unfair practices, using tax havens and manipulating stock prices and details.

According to sources, people with direct knowledge of the case spoke confidentially to the Investigation Unit and requested not to be identified. It is reported that this may be the final phase of the ongoing Investigation of Unit Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of New York and Justice Department fraud on Adani Group, Gautam Adani and Azure Power Global.
