Chinese App Tik tok Collects Personal data... Which is against National Security

After India, TikTok may soon be shut down in America too. A few days ago, US Democratic Party MP Raja Krishnamoorthi and Republican Party MP Mike Gallaghe presented a bill in the lower house.

In which he had expressed concern about the tik tok, according to the bill, Tiktok collects personal data of users and spies on it, which is against the security of any country and person and that is why he talked about shutting down Tiktok in America. The title of the bill is "Protecting Americans From Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act".

On March 13, the bill was passed with full majority from the lower house, but now it is the turn of US President Joe Biden to agree on it and get signature on the bill, which may be a bit difficult.

352 Votes in Favour and 65 Votes are Against the Bill

To reach the conclusion of this decision, a voting took place in the US House in which the United States got majority consent from the two major parties republican or democratic party. This is happening for the first time in our history, when both the Republican and Democratic parties are united. In conclusion, there were 352 votes in favor of banning Titok and 65 votes against it.

According to the bill, if TikTok does not separate itself from its parent company Bytedance within 180 days, it will be banned nationwide from Google and Apple in the United States.

However, this is not the first time that there has been talk of shutting down TikTok in the US, for the first time since it was shut down from India in 2020, then-President Donald Trump had also applied for the closure of TikTok in the US in 2020. But, the bill was blocked by that court.

Raja Krishnamoorthi, ".....TikTok against Americans"

Recently, Raja Krishnamoorthi gave details of the voting for the US House TikTok in his Twitter account and wrote that "Today, the House passed my bipartisan bill with @RepGallagher to force ByteDance's divestment from TikTok to end Chinese Communist Party control of the app. The CCP must not be able to use TikTok against Americans, and this bill would prevent that while keeping TikTok available.

On which the Select Committee on the CCP Democrats of China got it reposted that " Joint statement from @CongressmanRaja and @RepGallagher on today's House passage of H.R. 7521, the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act."
