Ashok Chavan said that, "Today is the beginning of my new......"

On 13 February, Ashok Chavan, the big face of Mumbai politics who recently resigned from Congress, has now joined BJP in the presence of Devendra Fadnavis the Deputy CM of Maharashtra, Ashish shelar the member of Maharashtra Assembly, Harshwardhan patil the Chancellor of Maharashtra, pravin Darekar, Girish Mahajan minster of rural development of the state and other senior leaders in the party's headquarter in Mumbai.

On 12th February, Maharastra Assembly Member Ashok Chavan resigned from Congress on Wednesday and said that “I have quit the Congress Party, as MLA and from all other party posts today… I have broken all my involvement with the party. I have no complaints and till yesterday I worked honestly for the party,”.

Ashok Chavan, who has come a long way with Congress, is the son of former Maharashtra CM Shankarrao Chavan. Ashok Chavan was the third biggest political face of Congress after MP Milind Deora or MLA Baba Siddique.

A few hours before joining BJP, Chavan stated that he is now going to start a new political journey and told reporters that "Today around 12-12:30, I am going to start a new journey of my political career, I am going to join BJP. After leaving the Congress party on Wednesday 12 February".
