In Thripunithura, Kerala, 16 injured and 1 killed in a massive explosion
Around 10:30 am on Monday 12th February, a massive explosion occurred due to the burning of a temporary unit of Firecracker in Thripunithura, Ernakulam District, Kerala. In which 1 person was killed and 16 people were injured.
The explosion was detected by radio about 2 kilometers from the spot of the accident and more than 30 houses and buildings were damaged. The police and forces tried their best to rescue the people trapped and trapped in the damaged area. Local people told that after hearing such a loud noise, everyone came out of their homes.
It is being told that the condition of the injured people is very serious.The injured people were immediately admitted to the nearby hospital.
According to sources at Ernakulam General Hospital, 12 seriously injured people were in dire need of medical care, out of which the condition of one of the injured was the most serious and the patient has been admitted to a private hospital in Kochi for medical care.Three more people have been admitted to Kalamasri Government College Hospital.
Municipal councilor Rema Santosh told Manorama News that the tempo from which the firecrackers were being loaded was also burnt to ashes.
A police officer said that "At least four persons suffered critical burn injuries and they were shifted to nearby hospitals. We are collecting more details," a police officer said.
The police and fire force tried their best to evacuate the people successfully. However, the exact cause of this massive explosion has not been known yet.
