Milind Deora resigned from Congress and joined Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena, on which Congress said......
Milind Deora resigned from Congress on January 14, Milind Deora has contested the South Mumbai Lok Sabha election.
Milind Deora has been very close to Rahul Gandhi. And recently he has been appointed Joint Treasurer of All India Congress Committee.
But now the question arises that despite being so close to Rahul Gandhi and being the Joint Treasurer of All India Congress Committee, why did Milind Deora resign from Congress?
The reason is here,
Deora family already have a prominent hold in Maharashtra politics. For the last 4 decades, at least one member of the Deora family used to contest the Lok Sabha elections from the south Mumbai seat. For this reason he decided to leave Congress and join Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena.
Milind is the son of former Union Minister Murli Deora, who has contested elections from the same Lok Sabha seat four times.
Milind also wanted to contest from South Mumbai seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, but Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena has already staked claim on this seat, due to which Milind was worried and in this regard, he also wanted to meet Rahul Gandhi.

Milind Deora had earlier also contested elections from South Mumbai seat in 2014 and 2019.
Both times he had to face a tough defeat from BJP - Shiv Sena alliance candidate Arvind Sawant.
