Delhi Airport Terminal 1 Roof Collapse amid Heavy rain, 6 Seriously Injured and 1 Died

Recently a heart breaking incident happened at Delhi's Indira Gandhi Airport in which 6 people were seriously injured and 1 person died due to falling of a heavy iron pipe. 

Minister Ram Mohan Naidu "personally" inspected the spot and committed to give Rs 20 lakh as compensation to the family of the deceased and Rs 3 lakh to the injured.

Heart Wrenching Incident: Roof of Delhi Airport Terminal 1 Collapse,  amid Heavy rain 

Like that, in every 2-3 days, a heart-wrenching incident keeps happening in Delhi, due to which the worries of the Delhi Citizens keeps on increasing. Recently, another heart-breaking incident has taken place in Delhi, in which 6 people have died tragically. And along with this, the flight arrival and departure has been Postponed.

-A roof collapsed at IGI Terminal 1 of Delhi airport resulted in one death & five injuries.

This incident is said to have happened on Friday early morning around 5:20 am, immediately after which the Delhi Fire Service was informed at 5:30 am. According to the official, the Roof and beams of the airport's tragdically fell down, due to which 4 vehicles standing in the pick up and drop area of the airport suffered heavy damage. DCP Usha Rangnani Marked, 

“At around 5 a.m., due to heavy rains, the shed outside Terminal 1 of IGI, spanning from departure gate no. 1 to gate no. 2, collapsed, in which around 4 vehicles were damaged and around six persons have been injured and one person has died. All injured persons are stable. Legal action is also being taken,” 

Compensation of 20 lac to the family of died Person and 3 lacs to Injured People 

Ram Mohan Naidu also confirmed through social media that he is committed to give "compensation" to the affected families due to this tragic accident. Prime Minister Modi is closely monitoring this situation and is giving full assurance and support. "PM Modi is closely monitoring the situation and has assured us of full support. Our thoughts are with all those affected by this unfortunate event".

After that Minister Ram Mohan Naidu also visited AIIMS where the injured have been Admitted and ensured their "best treatment" and marked, "My thoughts are with the victims and their families. We are committed to their swift recovery and safety."

6 are Seriously Injured and 1 Died on the Spot 

The roof of Terminal 1 of Delhi Airport suddenly collapsed, due to which 4 vehicles suffered heavy damage, 6 peoples Injured and one person travelling in the vehicle also lost his life.

Inspecting the T1 Terminal and reviewing with the officials.

As you can see in the photo, a part of Delhi's Terminal 1 has collapsed, a huge pipe installed on the roof of the airport somehow fell on the vehicles due to which the cars suffered huge damage and the roof of the car collapsed due to Sudden Heavy Weight, there was also a cab among the vehicles.

Arrival and Departure of Flights on on Indira Gandhi International Airport postponed till 2 pm 

The accident is being reported at Indira Gandhi International Airport, one of the busiest airports in the world, due to this Tragic accident the arrival and departure of flights in Terminal 1 of the Delhi airport has been postponed till 2 pm.

Immediately after this, the rescue teams started their operation in which a person was taken out from the cab, who died on the spot due to severe injuries caused by the falling of heavy iron pipe.

Union Civil Aviation Minister "Personally Inspected" the Airport 

Newly elected Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinkarapu inspected the Indira Gandhi International Airport after this tragic accident and said that the scheduled flights from Delhi airport are being postponed till 2 pm. And it was also said that after 2 pm the flights will depart from Terminal 2 and Terminal 3.

"Personally monitoring the roof collapse incident at T1 Delhi Airport. First responders are working at site. Also advised the airlines to assist all affected passengers at T1. The injured have been evacuated to hospital. Rescue operations are still ongoing." 

"Following the collapse of the Delhi T1 terminal this morning, I have personally inspected the site. Our immediate priority was the safe evacuation of all passengers from the terminal. Consequently, all flights scheduled until 2 PM have been canceled." 

"Passengers will receive full refunds or have the option to rebook on alternative flights and routes. Flights scheduled to depart after 2 PM will be operated from T2 and T3. I will see that a thorough examination of the terminal's structure is conducted by experts to ensure safety,". 

Indigo cited "Structural Damage" for its Impacted Flight Operation 

"Due to structural damage to #DelhiAirport (Terminal 1) caused by adverse weather, flight operations are impacted. All flights scheduled to depart between 1000-1400 hrs have been cancelled"  the Indigo airline marked, Citing"Structural damage"
